Pastor Jeff & Aynsley Hillier

Tachi Yamada of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation once said, “The world needs ideas so novel that people might shoot them down.” Too often, what we “produce” in life is too safe – acceptable to the masses. Yet, safety was not what discovered the first vaccine, nor what put the first man on the moon, nor what allowed Columbus to discover a round planet. Most great accomplishments have taken place because someone left the arena of safety and have dared to take a risk. My dream is that this emerging generation would take some great risks for God. To create a revolution in society, we must do things that cause people to take notice. I challenge you as a student or leader to live a life that is represents risk – risk for God!

Purple Cow by Seth Godin

“The premise of Purple Cow is that the future lies with those who discover ideas that stand out amongst all the rest. Too many of us try to create “better” while what we really need to do is create different. As I read this book, I considered the principles in relation to the church. What of our church causes people to say “WOW” – now that is different? Godin does a great job teaching principles that will help leaders (including church leaders) think differently about all they are producing.”
